It's all guess work. Most students just wander into random classes.

when you register for your classes they should give you the paperwork with the classes, class rooms and schedule.
if not contact your advisor at your college for further details.

When you register for classes, each course will list the days and times it meets, and the building and room number where the class meets. Something like this:
SOC 101 Introduction to Sociology M/W/F 0900-0950 Gage Building, Room 202
With online registration, there's usually a button that will print out all of your classes on a grid, showing each class and where it is held. If there isn't create your own, or purchase a "Daily Planner" at the college bookstore, which typically will have a blank grid inside the front cover.
For entering freshmen, it's good to spend a morning during the orientation week walking to each classroom, so you'll know exactly where to go during the first week of classes, and how long it will take to get there.
It's up to you to decide when to wake up each day, when to have meals, and when to study and do homework.

You're a poor sap. Every institution has a map of the campus. Keep your head up.

Because by the time you get to college you're supposed to be smart enough to figure it out. If ou can't then you're not smart enough to be there. That's how they weed out the idiots.
