Would you eat food made with bugs if it tastes good?

I just learned that the beef jerky sticks I've been eating contains carmine which is made from crushed beetles.

Disgusting!

I'd try it, but I don't think there are bugs in your jerky. Carmine can be a deep red color, scale insects (with not enough bulk to worry with in making food, or I suspect in your jerky, a pigment of a bright-red color obtained from the aluminium salt of carminic acid.

There's a disambiguation of he word on Wikipedia.

You have been eating foods with red coloring for your whole life -- those bugs.

If you are eating beef jerky sticks you are eating a LOT worse than a couple of beetles.

I could see dong that if you were starving in a wilderness and some professors have had their students to this as a survival lesson but barring that there is plenty of food that is not made from bugs that tastes good. I have eaten many edible weeds.
