What do you think of sad news of prominent Atheist dying in murder-suicide?

Prominent Atheist "Scott Smith, co-host of the "Recovering from Religion" podcast, and his wife were found dead in what is being described as a murder suicide

Recovering from Religion posted the following on their Facebook:

"As many of you have likely heard by now, Scott Smith committed suicide this morning after taking his wife’s life. Scott had worked with Recovering from Religion, most prominently as a member of the team that put out the RFR podcast. This news has hit all of us who knew Scott very hard, and we are struggling, as many of you are, with a large amount of powerful emotions, including sadness, guilt grief, shock, anger, and confusion.

Scott devoted his life to attacking religion beliefs. Recovering from Religion provided online resources for people who could get resources to leave their faith behind. There was a 1-800 phone # people for people to call-in."

A person can battle both atheism and the culture of death using the rosary and fasting.

  • it is sad, but it doesn't surprise me, dear. Atheism is a very depressing mindset to be in, believing a lie and trying to assert it's the truth, without having any evidence, and also declaring you are intelligent to do so.

This is a two year story about a man who struggled with mental illness. Show some respect and empathy.

That was two years ago. Do you live on a desert island or are you just slow?

Same as the sad news of a christian who murdered dozens of kids in a preschool.

When a brain is broken - be it autism, depression or PTSD - violence can arise without any warnings at all.

What I think is that something that happened two years ago isn't exactly "news."

No matter how many times you keep bringing it up.
