Does ancestory DNA go farther back than 23andme?

I want to do one that goes the farthest back in time possible. Which one goes farther back?

There is no O in "ancestry"

Your bundles of DNA, or at least parts of them, have all been around for many millennia

What do you mean by further back?  All the DNA does is provide some guidance with respect to what you find when researching your personal genealogy.

It will also enable you to contact other people who have a similar DNA profile to yours, which can help your research as well.

Places like ancestory.com are trying to build a database of DNA linked to the actual genealogy research their members do, think of it as a giant crowd sourcing project.  It will make it much easier for genealogy researchers at some point in the future.

No idea, however they are sold to entertain you, nothing more.....so to know who your ancestors were and where they came from you need to research and prove via real records as nothing else will give you that information
