Why does this happen?

Friends who have been happily married for years get new hobbies (like amateur dramatics groups) then end up splitting with their partners and their outlook seems to change in my acting group we have few nights a week we have social events.

If they were married a long time and suddenly got divorced, then it's going to affect every aspect of their life, including the acting group that they are in together. It happens because they cannot separate their personal and professional life due to their strong feelings for each other and sad feelings also that it didn't work out. Make the best of it and maybe they shouldn't work together anymore after this project due to this?

As partners in a couple pursue different interests, it is not unusual for them to drift apart.

Punctuation is your friend.  Try it.

That question needs some punctuation to make what you're asking more clear. But it sounds as if they had already grown apart. Sometimes developing other interests can strengthen a marriage. Sometimes one partner develops new interests and wants to grow and change and the other party is a lump that wants to do nothing and stay home every night. And sometimes developing new interests can expose you to new people and just reinforce that the two parties have reached the end of the road they travel together. You cannot know someone elses' marriage. You call them "happily" married but people are good at putting on masks when they're in front of others - even children that live with them in the same house.
