Atheism is the lack of belief God exists. For most atheists, they were believers at one time but have since come to the realization there is no proof God exist.

    That's what studies suggest.

Meditation and prayers produce brainwaves atheists don't produce.

    • Precisely. There are DEFINITELY atheist meditators, too. Although most of the ones on THIS website tend to be very anti all spirituality, and perhaps unlikely to meditate. Although.. you CAN in fact meditate in a purely secular way, too.

And which "synaptic functions" would those be, exactly?

The ones involved with auditory hallucinations, perhaps?

No.  Religion seems to keep people stupid and posting nonsense questions while cowering behind an anonymous post though.

No. From your POV it is God who suppresses the synaptic functions necessary. God hardens hearts, not atheists.  A thing does not cause itself. For the Christian skeptical of their own teachings:

    Romans 9

15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion,[b] but on God, who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.

    YOUR POV:

GOD is responsible for the state of atheism, NOT atheists. A thing causing itself is fallacious.

That's as good an explanation as any.
