How could God's voice be confused with those of "false spirits" or your own? Is his voice not powerful enough to be heard above the rest?

It all depends on how well you're accustomed to listening, as well as discerning. Such things typically require practice. But not always.

That is directly answered in Hebrews 1.

God's voice is actually mild. It never shouts. The only sure guide is a confirmation, a witness of truth from the Holy Ghost.

have you not heard that God speaks with a still small voice? It takes listening to hear it.

God is sovereign and can speak over anything, but his gentle voice is the norm and we need to be listening for it

The people that believe in the gods are easily fooled.

Correct.  His voice is the mildest of "whispers".  It is influence.

It isn't as difficult as it sounds:

1"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. 4You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 5They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. 6We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error." (1 John 4:1-6).

For example, you are driven by a spirit that teaches you that Jesus was never a 'real' person at all, which is part of a spiritual alliance called 'antichrist' made up of the largest collective body of deceiving spirits ever assembled.

They still didn't manage to convince me, however.

You haven't either, but nice try. Keep at it. Eventually you will either repent or reach your goal. Neither one will be anything like you are currently imagining.

I see.  So THIS is how people who claim to obey the same God, follow the same Christ, read the same Bible and receive understanding thru the same spirit agree on not much of anything and condemn each other as "false Christians".  Easy.
