What would happen if USA stops paying its debts?

Why can't the government stop paying the debts? Like just don't pay it. What other countries going to do about it? They're not gonna dare to attack us for that

Banks would stop letting you borrow more.

Getting deeper in debt is how you "stave off" economic shrinkage

Go take a course in economics. Too much

    Debt leads to bankruptcy.

The USD would become worthless and the Great Depression would look like a picnic compared to what follows.

Most US debt is internal, the US economy would be the biggest loser for various  reasons.

YOU think that every other country is just a banana republic, totally dependent upon the USA's commerce.

Feel like learning Mandarin or Cantonese?

Perhaps Russian is your favored one.

    The U.S. dollar would collapse.

There's a lot of this stuff going around.

This seems to get the right really angry when I point this out. That the U.S. has been printing tons and tons of dollars and any country without the reserve currency, without the economic power to just print as much as this stuff as it wanted and just go into the world pool of u.s. dollars being used internationally…

That personally, I think this party has to end eventually and Trump and all his hubris and his $1 trillion deficit aren't helping.

We wouldn't be able to borrow anymore which would mean massive budget cuts which would mean a recession and possibly economic collapse.
