Atheists: how do you know the Bible isn’t true?
- DavidLv 72 months ago
Similar to asserting "There is no God", first, then the Bible "isn't true", must follow by atheist logic.
But then, atheism is an irrational position, which is why it cannot be supported without either absurd claims, or logical fallacies.
When you get around to objectively validating the Philosophy of Materialism then you have a rational basis to assert there is no God and can call those who believe there is a God irrational. Until then your assertions related to God are faith based!
Asserting your faith based assertion is not any more rational than somebody else's faith based assertion is itself irrational.
Asserting a universal negative as a fact can only be done one of two ways.
1. One has universal knowledge (omniscience). Which is an absurdity.
2. One has proven an exclusionary affirmative proposition that renders the negative proposition impossible.. Which so far no atheist had done.
Since no atheist is omniscient, and no atheist has proven an exclusionary affirmative proposition that makes all gods an impossibility atheism is a faith based claim.. Nothing more than ones opinion and no more authoritative than theists claims or opinions.

How do YOU know it's true ? We just assume it's not until proven otherwise.

There is no documentation and no physical evidence to confirm that the bible is true. In fact, the bible is a fairy tale for nut jobs to believe in written by delusional people.

Unless you think the cause of epilepsy is demonic possession, some parts of it are provably false. Also, the part about not creating the sun until the fourth day. How did we have light and dark before that?

Is the Bible itself true?
You can buy a Bible in most bookstores. So the Bible is a true thing.
Does the Bible content true facts?
For most of them, yes:
Ancient Israelites recorded their kings, cities, wars and battles. Many have been cross checked with neighboring nation accounts.
Their laws were probably the laws they exacted for themselves, no reason to doubt about this.
Just the "science" part is totally faulty.
However, Genesis remains an accurate record of Bronze Age Israelites beliefs.

I never said that. There are many true things in the bible. There are also many false things. Just like the Harry Potter books, Spiderman comics, etc.

First of all, nobody claims to be the author (s), there is nothing that tells you where the information is from or when, it is out of context, and it is ridiculous. What makes you think it's fact?
