The fuel line from the tank pickup comes up to the front passenger frame side by the steering idler arm in front of the engine cradle and has a flex hose over to the engine front timing cover where the engine mechanical fuel pump is located on GM V8's. There is no inline filter, the fuel filter was integrated into the Rochester carburetor fuel line inlet.

Go to the public library and look in a Chilton's manual.

usually connected to the fuel pump by a rubber hose, some people add on a in line filter, but look for the fuel pump usually engine driven on older cars.

Crawl under the car and follow the gas line from the tank to the engine. You will find it.
