    They quit that and passed laws against it back in the 70s. Applies to near any wildlife.

    They can trap them (e.g. put some meat inside a trap with a spring loaded door) or tranquilize them.

    With a tranquilizer dart, usually.

    They get hit with a dart full of drugs, and they fall asleep.

    And the rest of the lion pride runs away because the humans shoot lots of guns in the air and arrive in big vehicles, and their survival instinct tells them to run.

    So they just take the drugged sleeping lion away and put them in a cage.

    That is how they get captured from the wild.
