Why does Wikipedia beg for money donations when moderators work for free and disk space is cheap?

    Because it's not free to store information and it's not free to operate a website.

    The work that goes into a Wikipedia article takes a lot of time and energy to research. Someone has to be paid for that, and everyone benefits from it.
