Physics Force Homework- Please Help!?

Taylor Swift is pushing a large monkey across the floor with a force of 345 N. If the monkey has a mass of 31.0 kg, and the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.16, what is the acceleration of the monkey?

    Let x m be the distance traveled, then

    31x"=345-0.16(31)(9.8)

    =>

    x"=345/31-0.16(9.8)

    =>

    x"=9.561 m/s^2 approximately.

    weight = 31 kg x 9.8 N/kg = 303.8 N

    friction force = 303.8 N x 0.16 = 48.608 N

    net force = 345 – 48.608 = 296.392 N

    F = ma

    a = F/m = 296.392/31 = 9.56 m/s²
