    Michael earns $21 per hour and works 40 hours per week.

    He would have to work 27 overtime hours  in a week

    for his time-and-a-half overtime pay

    to be greater than his regular gross pay.

  • What he makes per hour doesn't matter.  Let's say he makes D dollars per hour

    40 * D = 1.5 * D * h

    40 = 1.5 * h

    80 = 3h

    26.6666666.... = h

    If he worked 27 hours of overtime, he'd earn more on overtime than what he'd earn on straight time.

    Nope. Your question needs to be in the header or else it is a reportable violation. Also photos don't load for a lot of people so most won't be able to help

    • Don't listen to this person, Ethan.  You post your basic question in the header and then flesh out the details in the details section.  Anonymous poster is trolling you.  What is a reportable violation is not attempting to provide a serious answer to your question.
