How fast must a Ping-Pong ball of mass

2.667 g move in a straight line so that the two

balls have the same momentum?

    Given,

    Mass of ball (mb) = 9.7kg

    Speed of ball (vb) = 3.51m/sec

    Mass of ping - pong ball (mp) = 2.667g = 2.667 x 10⁻³kg

    Speed of ping-pong ball (vp) = ?

    Here, (Momentum)ball = (Momentum)ping-pong ball

    = (mb x vb) = (mp x vp)

    = vp = (mb x vb) / mp = 9.7kg x 3.51m/sec / 2.667 x 10⁻³kg

    = 34.047kg.m/sec / 2.667 x 10⁻³kg

    = 12.76 x 10³m/sec

    ∴ vp = 12.76 x 10³m/sec

    Momentum is mass * speed.
