If colon cancer is preventable why are so many people getting afflicted with it?

We know that colonoscopy, or DNA stool tests, can discover the presence of pre-cancerous polyps. As they slowly grow bigger, they can be the source of colon cancer.
Pretty easy to remove them, when they are small and not cancer. Having a close relative with colon cancer can increase your risk 3 fold!
Folks do not come in, as they figure that without symptoms, they must be good.
Imagine waiting for your car to break down before you change the oil!
There are genetic issues that can account for some cancers, as well as radiation exposure to the abdominal organs.

There is no credible source that says cancer is preventable. That's just nonsense you pulled out of your a$$.

It cannot be prevented. Risk can be reduced. Risk reduction includes cutting out junk food, reducing red meat consumption, and eating more high fibre vegetables. Many people in western society are not prepared to do this. Especially as there is still no guarantee.

You begin with the premise that colon cancer is preventable. This is false. People can only reduce the risks of colon cancer.
