What torture device? The cross wasn't a torture device; it was a killing device.

If theRomans intention was simply to kill Jesus, they would have stoned hom to death, or slit his throat.

Some even display it with a dead person on it.

I don't know anyone who worships crosses.

    Maybe I missed something.

As a former believer, I get it.

Every religion has things that people can ridicule.

Take the jehovah's witnesses for example.

They have a real black mass ceremony to commemorate Jesus' death.

They pass the emblems around the whole hall and everyone rejects those emblems.

There are some crazier JWs who do partake because they believe they belong to the special elect 144,000 who will reign with Jesus in heaven.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I have seen many answers on this聽 site that the cross for those who wear them, reminds them聽 of Jesus, and what He did for them. Why in heavens name would a person have to wear any kind聽 object be reminded of that? I also think it is a symbol of look at me.

You miss the point. It's to celebrate the fact that Christ overcame death.

He wasn't, was He?......He overcame the crucifixion...that's what's to be celebrated.

  • According to the mythology the better symbol would be a carved stone disc to symbolize the round stone of the sepulcher being rolled away.

The sign of the cross with the father son and holy ghost thing would be interesting with a round stone for symbol.

Not all of us do. Those who do do it as a symbol of their faith. To me, a better sign of my faith would be an empty tomb, but that's hard to depict.

No, it's not to keep him from coming back.

If Jesus comes back do you think he's gonna want to see a ******* cross?

Might be why he hasn't shown up yet.

"Man, they're still wearing crosses. **** it, I'm not goin' back, Dad. No, they totally missed the point. When they start wearing fishes, I might show up again.."
