    a)

    F = m dv/dt

    dv = (F / m) dt

    v = vo + (F / m) t 

    v = 0 + (2.2 /2.4)*0.71 = 0.65 m/s

    b)

    F = m dv/dt

    dv = (F / m) dt

    v = vo + (F / m) t

    v = - 2.7 + (2.2 /2.4)*0.71 = - 2.05 m/s
