How can I get help with tracing down a car?

Long story. I had a rare car that was totaled in an accident in Jan 2016. Then recently I traced the VIN of the car and found out it was rebuilt by a shop, and then sold at a Manheim auction in Minnesota.

Is it possible I can further trace the car down in an attempt reach out to the current owner? Or do I just have to let it go...

Let it go. It's not your car anymore.

Not unless you found the new vin and happened to find it listed at some dealership.

DMV records are not available to the general public.

Let it go. It's none of your business who owns it now.

Let go.  Devote more of your time (and money) to the people who are near and dear to you.  They will be at your bedside when you are at the hospital.  Your rare car will not be there.
