Why do non-American (British, Australian and European) singers sing in a USA accent?

    They may have toured the States.

    I`ve lived in several countries yet the only accent to rub off on me`

    has been  the American accent. It's contagious :)

    It is difficult to recognize accents when people sing.

    They do not.... Acca Dacca, John Farnham, Hugh Jackman, Kylie Minogue, Shannon Noll... they do not sound American...

    They do not. British singers should quite British a d Australian musicians should Australian.

    They don't, lol. It's just that when singing, accents become less discernible.

    They don't, actually.  If you listen closely, you can hear their native accents.
