A 8.5 kg object undergoes an acceleration of 2.8 m/s 2 . What is the magnitude of the resultant force acting on it? Answer in units of N. If this same force is applied to a 3 kg object, what acceleration is produced? Answer in units of m/s 2

    can't be simpler

    F = ma = 8.5 x 2.8 = 23.8 N

    a = F/m = 23.8 / 3 = 7.93 m/s²

    PS: "m/s 2" is meaningless, I assumed you mean m/s²

    Given,

    Mass (m) = 8kg

    Acceleration (a) = 2.8m/sec²

    Force (F) = ?

    We know that:-

    Force (F) = Mass (m) x Acceleration (a)

    Acceleration (a) = force (F) / Mass (m)

    Now, force (F) = 8.5kg x 2.8m/sec²

    = 23.8kg.m/sec² ≈ 24N

    ∴ force (F) = 24N
