I need to translate a historical text but I'm not sure it sounds natural for English speakers as I'm not a native speaker. Do I need to make any corrections? I would appreciate any answers.

The wooden synagogue built by Tom Nowak became decrepit more than 50 years after its completion.

More than 50 years after its completion, the wooden synagogue built by Tom Nowak had become dilapidated and ramshackle.

I'd use "fell into disrepair" instead of "became decrepit". Otherwise, go with it.
