How can anyone justify it being okay Trump not releasing his taxes?

1. Trump is currently charging US government for stay at his property.

2. Trump administration has re routed flight to have soldiers have to have a lay over causing them to have to pay to stay at trump's overseas resort.

3. The US tax payers need to know if Trump has a conflict of interest with foreign country or if he is manipulating taxes for his own personal gain.

4. Trump has had to settle out of court for running a fake university .

5. Trump is ban from running a charity in New York due to being corrupt

Obviously trump considers his returns more damaging than lying about their release.

As it relates to the trumpsters, some are not astute enough to see trump's chronic disconnect f/ truth, reality, history, accuracy etc. Some see it but don't care because he's on their team. And some have character that aligns w/ his evil much like how a tribe celebrates their best pillager.

Fascists believe in a single party state with a Supreme Leader who is above the law. They are opposed to transparency, democracy and freedom. Which American political party does that describe?

There are Minutes from a meeting in 1932 where German industrialists decided to support Adolf Hitler and his Nazis because they would save Germany from Socialism and unions. Those Minutes are among the evidence archived after tre Nuremburg War Crimes trials. Ask yourself if the Republican party have become Nazi/Fascist after reading the document.

Laughing here. Do a little research. Trump has nothing to do with where soldiers stay.

Because his taxes have nothing to do with anything that concerns you or me. His taxes are no more relevant than yours or mine.

Little Blackadder, the American public has every right to know whether someone running for president is a financial criminal. Perhaps, dear, you should move to a country where they think otherwise -- or at least are wearily accustomed to a lack of ethics and accountability in their leaders.

There is no ethical justification., While it's not legally required, presidents have released their returns for years now, and the only reason for NOT doing it is to hide something -- or several somethings.  After all, as the IRS has made clear, the fact that a return is under audit is no bar to releasing it.

We began to learn recently that there's some genuine evidence of fraud -- of Trump making certain claims to potential lenders and entirely different claims to the IRS. We'll certainly be learning more about that. Trump's going to be fighting legal battles for the rest of his miserable little life once he leaves office.

And yes, he is piling up violations of the Emoluments Clause, isn't he?  In fact, the whole Ukraine mess was an attempted violation of the Clause.

His little supporters seem to think all that's just fine, but only because THEY would like to be able to get away with tax fraud and other financial shenanigans. They admire that sort of thing, but we'll see how admirable they find it when they realize Trump is still hemorrhaging money to lawyers on his deathbed.

That's quite true.  If Congress asks, the IRS is required to release the returns to Congress. However, little Donnie's fighting that law tooth and nail.

Well, he doesn't HAVE to how them in general, but he PROMISED to.*  Just another promise he didn't keep,  like "we going to do some things accomplish some stuff.  You'll be surprised at how TREMENDOUS it will be."

*And that whole thing about "I'm not going to show them, because I am in an audit now" is just ridiculous.  Audits take less than a month, and he's been using that excuse for THREE YEARS.

No matter what information is in Trumps taxes you will find something to complain about.

There is no information that Trump could release that you would approve of or would change your irrational hate.

So why should he give up his right to privacy to make it easier for Democrats to find something, anything at all, to condemn?

I think if Trump has to expose his taxes just because the Democrats don't like him, Pelosi and the other Democrats should have to do it too. But I know the rule is tax returns are not public. The president shouldn't have less rights than the rest of us. Pelosi is being a hypocrite, which is what she is nearly 100% of the time. https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/emily-ward/pe...

Trump should have to release his taxes to prove no conflict of interest and not violating the emoluments clause

There is no law requiring a President to do so.

    • lando7 days agoReport

It would clarify if trump is abusing power or violating emoluments clause. 1924 tax rule that allows Congress to examine the tax returns of anyone, including the President, in order to determine if there are any conflicts of interest that need to be addressed.
