Why do people always acknowledge the bad mistakes we make but never acknowledge the good things we do?

Once I did bad, and that I heard ever.
Twice I did good, and that I heard never.
It's partly the culture and conditioning we've created. However, do you need to be acknowledged for the good things? If so, maybe you're the one who has to give that to yourself.

Usually to shape or perpetuate a certain narrative. It goes the other way too (ignoring the bad and only admiring the good).
