Does the nintendo ds have a gpu?

Update:

I looked on wikipedia and it says the arm 9 processor does all the video rendering. Is this true? Or does the arm 9 have a dedicated gpu in it or something???

    Yes. It's not a separate chip, though. It's integrated into the CPU die.

    Of course it does. it couldn't display graphics without a processor to run them through

      False.
      A GPU is only needed for hardware-accelerated graphics. Older/simpler systems, CGA, basic VGA etc. used simple memory-mapped video memory arrays directly written to by the CPU.
