P * V = n * R * T

Since n, R, and T are kept constant, then we can set it all equal to some constant k

P * V = k

P[1] * V[1] = k

P[2] * V[2] = k

P[1] * V[1] = P[2] * V[2]

P[1] = 1.75 atm

V[1] = 8.8 liters

V[2] = 6.2 liters

P[2] = ?

1.75 atm * 8.8 liters = P atm * 6.2 liters

1.75 * 8.8 / 6.2 = P

1.75 * 88/62 = P

P = (7/4) * (88/62)

P = 7 * 88 / (4 * 62)

P = 7 * 8 * 11 / (4 * 2 * 31)

P = 7 * 11 / 31

P = 77 / 31

P = 2.4838709677419354838709677419355

Take it to 3 sf

2.48 atm

To 2 sf

2.5 atm
