Noooo, because if a person commits suicide, he/she is beyond prosecution due to being DEAD.  Geez!

You do not go to jail for attempting suicide. Suicide is not illegal anywhere in the US. It is considered a medical issue, not a legal one.

Of course they do. They broke the law. The only thing is, their jail cells are all underground.

In theory, you can go to jail for ATTEMPTING suicide. If you are successful, your corpse doesn't go to jail.

In practice, you would be involuntarily committed for psychiatric evaluation.

No. Cant /wont go to jail for it. Just 24-72 hrs in a plastic room. cops are NOT qualified to judge if UR releasable. Court then can decide even more time; like 1-2 weeks or more , in a state  facility.

Nobody says that you are dumb. They just say you were sixteen years old before you learned how to wave bye-bye.
