I would buy the better hotdogs, Nathan's are good and just store brand buns.

Locally bakeries are very good for 'good' size hot dog type rolls.
The supermarket 'packs' are usually small and dont hold up too well.

Is it for yourself or your family or for the neighborhood?
If only making a few, maybe get something fancy but if cooking dozens, get the cheap stuff

Just use the standard hot dog bun

The quality of the buns is not as important as the quality of the hot dogs. As long as the buns are fresh and not stale then any brand should be just fine. For the hotdogs themselves you might try Nathans brand

Yes, you do can. You aren't MAKING hot dogs; you're heating already cooked stuff up.
