No. It's not true. We know there will be a new world because the bible guarantees it. However, the strength of an individuals faith to the end of the Great Tribulation and the end of the Last Days isn't guaranteed. Judas has faith for a time but feel away from his true faith and sold out Jesus. Similarly, a JW'S faith can weaken and they fall away from an approved state.

Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless, I hold this against you, that you have left the love you had at first.5 “‘Therefore...repent and do the deeds you did at first. If you do not, I will come to you, and I will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

As far a J/W's are concerned, it's not a guarantee from God, so none of them know for sure. They simply do their best to attain the required standard.

The word "save" and "salvation" in the New Testament refers to absolution from spiritual sin and NOT escape from physical death. You'd think atheists, who claim to know the Bible's message so much more than Christians and Jews, would have gotten this by now.

That's true! It's not up to us to determine our future in the new world, it's up to Jehovah God. We could be doing everything right but if our heart is bad, we have no place in the new world. That's why each one of us is a "work in progress", always trying our best to be a better person.
