I'm writing a book and just wondering if you guys have any ideas for chapter names.?

its about a teenager going to a party that he was forced by his friends and snuck out and when he does go it turns out to be a party where everyone is high and his friends he came with are passed out on the floor.

later he runs out into the woods and find a pack of wolves. so on, really I just need the name for the first chapter if possible.

It's a given that you couldn't care less what people who actually know a thing or two about writing have to say about it, but you ought to listen anyway: Whether you're writing with a goal in mind or simply writing for fun, writing is a productive, constructive hobby. It's not like watching television or listening to music or playing video games. If you want to write, you need to be an active participant. That's the bottom line.

If you wish to create something and attach your name to it, then you need to be the creator. If you can't think up an idea for a story, name your characters, or think up titles (not "names"), for your chapters or for the stories themselves, then you really would be better off watching television. That is the long and the short of it.

Because if you don't possess the bare minimum amount of creativity and imagination required to handle such a basic task - one of the most basic there is in writing, then there can be no doubt about it that you are just not cut out to write - either seriously or as a pastime.

Bethany, the best thing you can do at this point is go and actually READ some books of the type that you want to write. If you do that, you'll see for yourself how other - published - writers have handled all the basic stuff that you don't know, and that you don't yet realise you don't know.

Then you can write your own story, with your own ideas and your own names.

Most chapters aren't given names anymore.

Chapters don't need to have names at all.

But  as whatever you write is highly unlikely to be read by anyone at all, call it whatever you like.

    Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on.

Why they even need names in the first place is beyond me.

You can find plenty on how to name chapters online. Nobody can name it for you. Even if they did, you wouldn't be happy with it. Like the other answer said, most books don't have chapter names, they just aren't necessary. Write the book, then, if you still want to, name the chapters. Bear in mind that most authors completely re-write the first few chapters after the first draft as over the course of the novel their writing has improved, and the first chapters aren't up to scratch; else the plot has changed and re-writes are necessary. You're wasting your time worrying over the chapter name. Write the book.

Many successful books have used the chapter names 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.!
