Why aren’t girls that are named after their mothers go by Jr?

It’s a suffix not a name if it is it will be spelled Junior not Jr.

Because of the common practice and expectation of women taking their husbands' surnames. Although there are instances of daughters being named after their mothers and also using the suffix Jr. (such as Anna Eleanor Roosevelt Jr., Winifred Sackville Stoner Jr., and Carolina Herrera Jr). So it does happen, just not as often

IDK, but Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith were more creative with their children. The son who looks more like the mom is Jaden, and the daughter who looks a lot like her dad is Willow

Technically, even men are not considered juniors unless the first, middle, and last name all match. Simply inheriting a father's first and last name is not enough if the middle name is different. It used to be unheard of for a woman to inherit her mother's last name. While that's more common now, it's still very rare for a woman to inherit, the first, middle, and last name from her mother. The argument could be made that these women should be called Juniors, but it's rare enough that there's probably no official rule on the matter.

Women's lib will be on that one now that it's been brought to their attention. The Jr. typically meant that the son inherited the fortune and management of the father's estate.
