Dog gets mad when cat sits next to him? ?

So, my animals get along. The dog ignores the cat mostly but they're fine.

When she tries to sit next to him though he growls,  huffs and gets up and leaves. Wtf?

Is there any reason for this, or is he just being dramatic?

It's fairly common.  The dog probably associates the cat with some type of traumatic experience and doesn't feel comfortable so close to her.  It is interesting since many dogs would try to to get the cat to move away and not necessarily move themselves which tells me your cat may be dominant.

She's more submissive. Idk what's with him.

Dogs want to claim their territory and will not share their immediate territory with a cat.

like people, some pets just like to have their own space.

    They are natural enemies.
