Not really. I didn't think of it as "The Joker"
If it weren't set in Gotham city, and connect to the name "Wayne" there is nothing that makes this guy anything like the super villain.
Joker is more than a guy with green hair and a big smile. He's a master criminal. He has style, talent, imagination and motive . His actions have purpose. I didn't see that in the movie.
You have a loser, who goes homiocidle. That's it.

Joker should not have an origin story. I think he's more menacing and scarier without one.
Though the whole narrative was from his telling of the story, and the director warns us in advance that the Joker is an unreliable narrator.

I haven't watched it because I'm too scared.
If you despise all scary or disturbing stuff, I'd just advise to stay away from it. The positive take-away from the film, would be to treat people respectfully, and be a positive force in a society that is filled with so many callous people that it tends to drive people over the edge.

Yes it's good
Though some people have mentioned it's unfaithful towards the original films.
There aren't any films to base it off. It's adapted from the comic character.

yes it's a funny movie
Joker is a clown who couldn't stop laughing
It wasn't a funny movie. It probably had two-three moments that the audience could laugh at. There were only a few times he was laughing uncontrollably. It was usually during a time when a moment was really awkward

Won't watch any of the Batman movies after George Clooney.
Not even spin offs. Can't relate to the previews and they look terrifying af.
George killed the experience for you, huh? You can't picture Batman without whipping out a credit card holder, saying "never leave the cave without it." ??
Falling deeper into madness I see.
