Under Obama conservatives claimed the unemployment numbers were fake. Are they still fake?

Anything they don't like is fake.

No. Trump is perhaps the most transparent in the political nature of how he evaluates things. He wants admitted that all the unemployment numbers under Obama were fake but that the instant he came into Power those numbers would be real. Of course that's nonsense.
What we have here is part of a continued Republican assault on the notion of objective Truth. For decades we've seen Republicans salting me idea that there is an objective reality and that we can determine that through observation and logic. Instead, Republicans advocate something which might be called a faith-based system of knowledge where in what matters is what people, and specifically what conservatives, believe. So, Obama's economy was a disaster, from a conservative perspective, not because the actual numbers show that it was bad but because Republicans felt that it was bad. Similarly, Trump's economy is fantastic not because that's what reality shows but because that's what conservatives feel. For conservatives, the way you analyze evidence isn't on whether it Accords with reality or not but whether it fits with what you already believe. So information that tends to disprove your preconceived notions, such as positive economic numbers under Obama, needs to be dismissed as fake or incorrect.

No, and that's why the Socialist Liberal "news" sources aren't reporting on it.

As far as I know, Trump has not manipulated the way in which they determine those numbers. Although almost every president has done so, it was odd to have multiple press conferences to explain those changes as happened the third and final time the Obama administration altered it. If Trump hasn't actually tinkered, then yes. They do not tell the same story they would have pre Obama, which did not tell the same exact story pre Clinton.

There are plenty of issues with things like the definitions of “unemployed” and “in the labor pool”. Also the business of counting someone as employed even if the person only works one hour.

Obama increased the number of people on food stamps, and other government assistance. While Trump has done the opposite, there are fewer people on food stamps and other government assistance while decreasing unemployment.
People are finding jobs under Trump, people went on food stamps under Obama.
