Why must nipples be involved in squirrel production?

Because (like all mammals) if it weren't for nipples, baby squirrels would just die of starvation.

They aren't involved in the production.  After the baby squirrel is produced, they're the means for supplying nourishment.  You have to be trolling.  No one could be that dumb.

Because a squirrel is a mammal and all mammals feed their young with breast milk, which is accessed via nipples.

It facilitates the greasing of their nuts.
