I have a Dell XPS 15 9550 and it needs a screen replacement, can i use one of the newer models part for a replacement?

I have looked at some of the newer models and there seems to be no body changes to date just internal changes.

That model seems to use the entire top lid assembly, and can be 1920x1080 or 3840x2160 and this web site is out of stock

This is how you get it off

This part is a complete unit and includes LCD screen glued with Touch Digitizer, Bezel and Back cover, mounting brackets and video cable.

Might take a chance and get one from China, paying duties if required.

No way to know for sure if a newer one fits and functions, but the 9560 is likely the same according to Aliexpress sellers ad Parts-People.com.

    XPS 15 (9560), Precision 15 (5510)

There are some used ones around.

Probably not possible without a very accurate part number.

I had a Lenovo laptop where I thought the cable to the LED/LCD image panel was bad.  Bought wrong one.  Apparently in middle of that year's production run, there was a change in panel supplier.  Should have looked at my panel's part number.  And it was the motherboard video that was bad, so replaced that.

Bottom line is you must get the very exact same panel by using the old panel's part number to be sure of complete swap ability.
