I gained 50 pounds, could this be why?

I eat a large meal between 11PM-2AM cause I just get so hungry. Then I go back to bed.

If it is, are there healthier stuff I can eat instead that won't make me gain weight?

    Air-popped popcorn, seaweed sheets (VERY low in calories).  But, not from a weight-gain perspective, eating right before or during sleep periods is not very good for your body in general.
