    well the best one so far i’ve used is Adobe After Effect but if you’re an amateur you can start with Adobe Premiere Pro. 

    IF you’re a baby amateur, you can actually use Movie Maker, for some basic videos .

    Some other video editing apps is Sony Vegas and that one video app you got along with your iMac (i forgot the name, havent touch iMac for 5 years), we actually used it for the pre-wedding editing for our company. It’s not that bad, it got some nice filters and effects like those in premiere pro

    there's "best of" lists on google for lots of stuff, including video editors.  which one you'd like best depends on what features you want out of it though

    i'm a fan of open shot because it's easy to use, it's got some pretty good capabilities despite being easy to use, and it's free.  i doubt a "pro" would use it though
