You are given dimensions of the full sized desk:

54 in x 36 in

And the kid's desk is 2/3 the size.  Multiply the dimensions by 2/3 to get the dimensions of the kid's desk and find the perimeter and area using those new numbers:

54 * 2/3 = 36

36 * 2/3 = 24

P = 2(l + w) and A = lw

P = 2(36 + 24) and A = 36(24)

P = 2(60) and A = 36(24)

P = 120 in and A = 864 in²
