It takes several days for a fertilized egg to move down the fallopian tube and implant itself.

If the egg has not yet implanted.. Yes, you will get your period.

It's highly unlikely that you could be impregnated a couple of days before your period is due. You ovulated up to 2  weeks before, and you won't release another egg in this cycle that could be fertilized. The egg you released when you ovulated wasn't fertilized, and so your body absorbed it.

You ovulate half way through your cycle. The egg is only viable for fertilization for a window of 1-3 days.

  No .. an egg is released about 2 weeks before her period is due, when she ovulates. That is the ONLY egg that's released during this cycle. That egg wasn't fertilized when she ovulated and, by the time it's a couple of days before her period, the unfertilized egg has been absorbed by her body.
