Why can’t men wear dresses?

There is almost nothing that women are not allowed to wear.  Women say that they are equal to men but yet at the same time don’t want for men to dress like them.  Women used to not be allowed to wear pants but now are.  How is this equal?  Clothes are supposed to make you feel better about yourself right so why is it that men who would like to wear dresses so that they can feel better about themselves are denied that right?  A man wanting to wear dresses does not make him gay just like a woman wanting to wear pants does not make her a lesbian.
