What are these wooden carvings called?

Update:

Is there a specific name for this type of decor?

My dad called it Scrolls as you need a scroll saw to cut it.  It is a very thin blade so like 1/4" in width so you can cut tight corners by curving around them.    Just google scroll patterns.

They are brackets, sometimes called corbels. If they are not load-bearing, they are more commonly called brackets.

They are corbels or brackets. They are upside down.

If the scrolls were more defined they would be console brackets.
