How good is a £4000 per month salary after taxes in IT?

    That's about $60,000 per year in the US, which would probably be a bit on the low side, depending on what position you have in IT. No clue how far that much money gets you in the UK, though.

      So  the poster meant £4000 a month after taxes that means about £7000 per month before the tax which is about £80,000 a year.In USD it is $100,000 a year.

    Garbage compensation for someone with a lot of skills.  Average to above average for University graduates with some skills and experience.
