Could you make this English sound better for native speakers? ?

This may sound abstract, and if you have something you don't understand, omit it please.

People watching horror movies sounds strange because, in the world outside movies, everyone naturally makes every effort in order to avoid being involved in anything that has more or less possibility to cause such threat.

The world around us is filled with awful, and evil things.  Every night you can turn on the news, and it seems that everyone has lost their mind.  With all the real time, world horrors, why would anyone watch horror movies?  Because, we like them, and they seem to take the edge off, by numbing the senses, to better adapt us to the world in which we live.

I'll take a guess that you're trying to say something like "It is strange that people pay to go to horror movies to see things that would frighten or disgust them in real life."
