Why did MLK Jr. say it was a lie that Protestants built Capitalism?
"We have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that Capitalism grew and prospered out of the protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifice. The fact is that Capitalism was built on the exploitation and suffering of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor both black and white, both here and abroad."--MLK
MLK seemed to have some beefs with the protestant history that has been taught, like a lot of them are lies.

Because it's the truth.
No one on EARTH worked harder than African Americans.
Still undervalued and exploited to this day.
And we suppose to ignore this because we supposedly was saved from Africa into slavery......chattel at that.
How long do the powers to be think they can get away WITH THE GREATEST CRIME ever committed in mankind.

"Why did MLK Jr. say it was a lie that Protestants built Capitalism?"
Apparently because MLK did not understand that Capitalism began in pre-American Europe where the only slaves at the time were the Irish that fell under the dominion of the United Kingdom of Great Briton.
It's a grande fallacy that the definition for slavery has come to exclusively mean Black slavery in America, when in actuality, that was just a blip in the history of slavery which has been around since before the times of recorded history.

That's why the Pope mentions MLK a lot in speeches, because MLK bashed the Protestants. He probably would have converted to Catholic if he lived longer
