Question about resigning in work?

I'm a new employee and I'm on my first week, but can I resign immediately? I don't know anything about resigning.

Wow, it's only Tuesday and you want to quit? If you're that bad an employee do them a favor and resign immediately so they don't waste any more time training you. Just tell them you don't think it's the right job for you.

You write up a letter of resignation. "I wish to resign my position effective <date>". Something along those lines.

Depends on your terms of service/contract - you may have to give a certain number of weeks notice.
