Do I have to call spectrum if installed a new modem?

I have a really old zoom modem and im planning to get a new modem NETGEAR Cable Modem CM500 do i have to call them and let them know?

    First make sure the CM500 will do the job with Spectrum and that it meets their performance specs. Check the Spectrum website. Yes you need to let them know or it will not likely connect even if it is the proper unit.

    Yes. Your new modem won't work until your ISP initializes it to the system. They will need the ESN and MAC codes on the label.

    May have to be configured for your ISPs system, they may have special settings you do in the setup menu.

    Yes, they will need to know the relevant identification of the equipment to enable the new modem to connect to their network.
