Is the internet a public utility? Even if its multi national?

The internet is built on the backbone of corporate giants NOT public funds. America doesn't use public funds to improve the internet infrastructure so why on earth would you call it a "public utility"? Get rid of the corporations that are invested heavily in providing the service to the customer, and you'll find yourself clearly lagging behind.

I suppose it does technically fit the definition of a utility.

No. No global government. No global laws. We like global business to be free to run everything.
