USB device not recognised?

Ok so, i have a blackstard id core V2 40W guitar amplifier and a pc (I can connect them both with Mini usb (b type). Sometime ago i accidently broke my cable, the mini usb thing was still pluged in but the cable sliped out. When i bought anotherone, now when i plug it in it says 'Unknown USB Device - Device Descriptor Request Failed'. I have tried everything online, Updated my drivers and everything i found on youtube. Still doesent work, please help.

    USB device recognized. Otherwise no one will be able to use it.

    It could just be a low quality USB cable that is too high resistance and cannot pass enough power. Try a short, thick cable rather than a long thin one.

    Types advertised for use with external hard drives are best for high current devices.Or, the socket may have been damaged when the cable got broken.

    In that case, it need a new USB socket installing in the amp.
