Yes. The resurrection is conducted in order. Jesus himself was first and his anointed brothers would be resurrected next at a later time. The resurrectionof the 144k anointed actually began at the start of Christ's Presence; his rule in heaven. When Christ executes judgement on the earth those still living will instantly be taken to heaven.

    Matt 24:

3 While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence..?”

    1 Cor 15:23

But each one [will be resurrected] in his own proper order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence.

    1 Thes 4: 16

because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call,... and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first.

  • If you read a little more below, it's not just 144,000, but a myriad of millions saved.

These are anointed Christians who are alive during Christ’s presence in Kingdom power. They meet the Lord Jesus in the invisible heavenly realm.

To experience this, though, they first need to die and be resurrected as spirit creatures.  Cor. 15:35, 44

Christ’s presence has already begun, so anointed Christians who die today do not remain dead. They are caught away, or raised instantly. 1 Cor. 15:51, 52

Thus, in due course, all the 144,000 will be raised to serve as priests and kings in the heavenly Government with the, Jesus Christ. This is the first resurrection.

There are two interesting points in this Revelation 7:3–8:

    1) It directly states that all of them will be kin of the 12 tribes of Israel and not any Jews or non-Jews who might otherwise deserve.

    2) All of them will be virgins.

Anyway, this mostly rules out JWs as they aren't descendents of any of the 12 tribes, and most are married anyway.

They interpret it incorrectly, since it's a false religion

  • Hello, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and yes, that scripture is referring to the anointed ie a part of the 144,000.
